We catch up with Rachel Sowers from CitySwift to find out more about their brand and exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo, on stand 126.
Tell us a bit about your company?
CitySwift is the data and AI operating layer bus networks run on. We connect the core pillars of bus network delivery (network design, performance optimisation, live operations and contract management) with the highest quality performance data. Transport operators and authorities use CitySwift to plan better services, run successful networks and prove the results.
Our story began in 2016 in Galway, Ireland, where co-founders Brian O’Rourke and Alan Farrelly saw that bus networks were generating huge volumes of data, yet very little of it was shaping the decisions that matter most to passengers.
At the heart of it all is the timetable. The timetable is the promise between authority, operator and passenger. When it misses reality, reliability slips, trust erodes, ridership falls and investment shrinks. Get it right and that cycle runs in reverse. Breaking the cycle of underperformance is what gets us out of bed every morning.
Today, CitySwift works with some of the biggest names in public transport, including Go-Ahead Group, Arriva UK Bus, Transport for London, Transport for Greater Manchester, Translink and Bus Éireann. We have deployments across the UK and Ireland and a growing presence in Australia.
Tell us about your latest product(s), service(s), promotions or launches visitors can hope to see on your stand?
On our stand, visitors will see how CitySwift turns bus data into confident decisions across the full life of a network, from visibility to intelligence to real-time action:
Network design: shape services around real demand and real-world running conditions, so new and revised networks are built to deliver from day one.
Performance optimisation: data-driven runtimes and schedules that tackle late running, excess wait time and end-point punctuality at the root cause.
Live operations: real-time insight that helps control teams act on problems as they happen, not after the fact.
Contract management: one shared, trusted view of performance for authorities and operators, built for franchising, enhanced partnerships and everything in between.
The results are already on the road. Go-Ahead Group delivered a 4% network-wide improvement in punctuality and Transport UK is able to implement five times more changes with CitySwift.
We are excited to announce a new real-time capability within the CitySwift platform. Visitors can stop by our stand to learn more about our departure delay board that identifies forthcoming departures at risk by analysing live trip performance and predicting how delays will impact the start of the vehicle’s next trip. Our solution allows operators to become proactive by, for example, running a spare vehicle or communicating a cancelled trip on a passenger app in response to real-time insights.
Why is exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo 2026 an unmissable opportunity for you?
Euro Bus Expo brings the whole industry under one roof: operators, authorities, suppliers and policymakers. That matters to us, because a better bus network is never built by one party alone. It takes authority, operator and the data between them working from the same version of the truth.
The timing could not be more important. Authorities across the UK are preparing for franchising and new partnership models right now, and the decisions taken in 2026 will shape services that may not run until the end of the decade. Euro Bus Expo is the place to have those conversations early, and to show that AI is already delivering for bus networks today.
Come and find us at Stand 126 in the Technology Zone to see how better data builds better bus networks.
