We catch up with K. Mundt from Konvekta to find out more about their brand and exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo, on stand 284.
Tell us a bit about your company?
Konvekta AG is a German family-owned company based in Schwalmstadt, Germany. Since 1957, we have been developing heating and air-conditioning systems for commercial vehicles.
Today, our solutions are used in buses and coaches, rail vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, as well as transport refrigeration. A key focus of our work is efficient thermal management for electric vehicles.
In the bus sector, Konvekta develops complete heating and cooling systems for both conventional and electric buses. For many years, we have been working with natural refrigerants and CO₂ (R744) heat pump technology. Our systems are designed not only to provide a comfortable temperature for drivers and passengers, but also to manage temperature-sensitive components such as batteries and power electronics.
With our own development, production and testing facilities in Germany, we combine many years of experience in HVAC technology with the requirements of modern electric mobility. Our aim is to develop reliable and energy-efficient thermal management solutions for the long-term operation of public transport vehicles.
Tell us about your latest product(s), service(s), promotions or launches visitors can hope to see on your stand?
At Stand 284, Konvekta will focus on CO₂ heat pump technology and integrated thermal management solutions for electric buses. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how different vehicle requirements can be met through the interaction of heat pumps, heat sources and control systems.
A key topic will be the efficient use of available thermal energy. Konvekta’s CO₂ heat pump systems can provide heating even at low ambient temperatures and support vehicle preconditioning. Depending on the system design, additional electric or conventional heating systems may no longer be required or may only be needed as a backup. This can help reduce energy consumption from the traction battery.
Another focus will be the flexibility of the technology. With more than 15,000 systems proven in the field, Konvekta builds on extensive practical experience. Its CO₂ heat pump systems can be tailored to individual vehicle requirements by adjusting over 800 parameters, including those for specialised applications such as electric double-decker buses.
Visitors are invited to discuss how thermal management solutions can be integrated into different vehicle concepts, taking energy efficiency, operational safety and long-term cost-effectiveness into account.
Why is exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo 2026 an unmissable opportunity for you?
Euro Bus Expo 2026 gives us the opportunity to meet operators, vehicle manufacturers and industry partners from the UK and other European markets in one place.
For Konvekta, this direct exchange is especially important as the requirements for electric buses are becoming increasingly complex. Heating, cooling, battery temperature control and overall energy consumption are closely connected and need to be considered as one system.
The exhibition allows us to discuss these challenges directly with customers and to better understand the specific operating conditions and expectations of the UK market. At the same time, we can share our experience with CO₂ heat pump technology and thermal management systems for electric buses.
For us, Euro Bus Expo is therefore not only about presenting technology. It is an important platform for technical discussions, exchanging practical experience and understanding how future bus systems can be designed for reliable and efficient operation.
