20 innovations, 10 finalists, 90 seconds to impress at Euro Bus Expo 2026

New product launches, live demonstrations and eight operator roundtables also feature when the industry gathers at the NEC Birmingham on 3–5 November.

From control rooms to workshops, Euro Bus Expo 2026 will showcase practical responses to some of the coach and bus industry’s biggest operational challenges.

More than 200 exhibitors will bring products and services spanning the full bus and coach supply chain. Over 80 vehicles from 31 manufacturers, dealers and converters will also be on display, including UK and global launches.

Alongside new supplier launches and live demonstrations, visitors can explore 20 Innovation Challenge entries and request places at eight new roundtables.

The industry gets its say

The Innovation Challenge puts new ideas in front of the operators who could use them. This year’s entries reveal a strong interest in technology that goes beyond analysing information to handling routine tasks, planning resources and identifying risks.

eCoachManager’s Astra and Optibus Agent are AI assistants for control-room and operational tasks. Ask Mosaiq, from Mosaiq by Snapper Services, answers plain-language questions about network data. Ferdia CoPlanner aims to cut dead mileage through better vehicle, trip and depot planning. GreenRoad’s AskMila predicts emerging safety risks.

Other entries target the systems operators depend on. Distinctive Systems will preview Coach Manager Cloud, bringing private hires, contracts and quotations into one workflow. Its UK release is planned for late November. BusWhere’s DispatchAssist helps manage vehicle outages, HansaTech’s Mobifer Ops combines coach sales and operations, and Naviquate’s IQ1 provides transport data for journey planning and oversight. Ticketer Driver Connect improves communication between drivers and control rooms.

Several entries focus on the passenger journey, from accessibility to information and ticketing. Masats’ AIDA uses AI to automate doors and ramps in response to passengers’ access needs. ebblo Assist supports independent travel for passengers with visual or mobility impairments, and StarPal provides portable stop announcements. Fruit Bowl Co will launch Zest, which automates passenger publicity from timetable data. TransMach Systems’ TM700 ETM combines ticketing and operational functions, while Trackaroo Smart Pass lets pupils board using NFC keyrings.

Electric fleet technology also features. Konvekta’s CO₂ heat-pump intelligent Climate Network for Electric Buses uses its neXwork system to manage heating and cooling across the vehicle. Tenix Charge manages electric bus charging, while LJ Create’s Electric Bus Panel Trainer supports safe electrical fault-finding practice.

Completing the line-up, Camira’s RePlay Zero is an upholstery fabric woven from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester.

Visitors will decide which ideas reach the final. Voting at the Innovation Challenge Gallery (stand 476) is open until 3pm on Wednesday 4 November. The 10 entries with the most votes will give 90-second pitches in the Masterclass Theatre from 10:15am on Thursday, presenting to a judging panel led by Keith McNally, Operations Director at CPT.

The Judges’ Choice Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards and the Operator’s Choice Gold Award, determined by visitor voting, will be announced at 2:25pm on the same day.

Full details of all 20 entries are available on our Innovation Challenge page.

Practical solutions across the show floor

Beyond the competition, suppliers will show how new technology and services can address persistent operational pressures.

Don’t Travel Empty will launch DTE One, a coach and vehicle management platform with a driver app. Operators can log individual journey legs and receive automatic alerts when matching journeys are identified across the Don’t Travel Empty and eCoachManager networks.

Freeway Fleet Systems will demonstrate Ask Freeway, an AI-powered assistant that lets operators query maintenance records in everyday language, helping them spot recurring defects and overdue inspections.

Altertek will demonstrate how repairing and refurbishing BAE Systems energy storage units can extend their life as an alternative to replacement. Excel Resourcing will discuss additional workshop capacity, warranty campaign work and support for operators starting new franchise contracts.

Hankook Tyre UK will introduce the LB01 hot-cure remoulded urban bus tyre with Vaculug. Kernow Oils will highlight Castrol’s relaunched Vecton commercial vehicle oil range, with Multi, Plus and Long Drain tiers.

First Charge will explain how third-party operators, including electric coach fleets, can access First Bus’s depot charging network rather than install their own. DH Drivers & Workforce Team will introduce its Service Bus Driver Division, supplying drivers for local routes, school services and park-and-ride.

Addressing safety and passenger needs

Troman Industries will demonstrate Trident, combining thermal monitoring, alerts and fire suppression to give operators earlier warning of potential vehicle fires.

For school transport, 2024 Innovation Challenge winner ShuttleID will present ShuttleVision, developed with Centrad. It links ticket scans and vehicle tracking with CCTV footage to support safeguarding investigations. Parksafe Group is working with Road Skills Online to combine low-bridge detection technology with driver education to help prevent bridge strikes.

Visitors can meet the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s new Bus Compliance Team, established to support safe, accessible, punctual and reliable services.

TrainFX will show e-ink terminals for booking demand-responsive transport without a smartphone. Ventura Systems will present its fifth-generation Inward Gliding door, designed to help keep water, dirt and noise out of vehicles.

Eight roundtables, practical conversations

New for 2026, eight roundtables will bring coach and bus operators, local authorities and industry specialists together to explore shared challenges, exchange experiences and connect with peers. The emphasis will be on open discussion, sharing experiences and what works in practice.

The programme covers:

Tuesday 3 November: “Driver retention: What makes people choose to stay?”, “Hydrogen: Where does the case stack up?” and “Enhanced Partnerships: What makes them work?”

Wednesday 4 November: “Engineering and maintenance: What keeps the fleet moving?”, “AI and data: What actually works?”, “PSVAR from 2030: Compliance, investment and practical planning” and “Running the electric fleet: Protecting range, cost and uptime”

Thursday 5 November: “Franchising beyond the city: What would work in rural areas?”

Places are limited, with participation managed to ensure a balance of perspectives. Registered visitors can request a place until Friday 23 October.

Plan your visit and register free

Visitors can attend 25 free Masterclass Theatre sessions across the three days, sponsored by Elite Vehicle Supplies (part of Motormax Group). Sessions will cover bus reform, coach operations, fleet transition, compliance, workforce planning and more.

Euro Bus Expo Connect, sponsored by Troman Industries, helps registered coach and bus operators, local authorities and community transport organisations find exhibitors, request meetings and plan their visit.

Euro Bus Expo takes place in Halls 17–19 at the NEC Birmingham on 3–5 November 2026. Registration is free for industry professionals.
