Ventura Systems will be showcasing two door systems at Euro Bus Expo: Our new fifth generation Inward Gliding door system and our third generation Plug Sliding door system.
The fifth generation of Ventura Systems’ Inward Gliding door introduces a new approach to door kinematics and sealing, further enhancing safety, reliability and comfort for drivers and passengers.
At the core of the system is an innovative lifting movement of the door leaves. This unique kinematic design allows the door to compensate for the inclination of the vehicle floor. When opening, the door leaves are lifted clear of the floor, ensuring smooth and unobstructed movement. When closing, the door returns to its lower position in a controlled ‘drop movement’, aligning precisely with the portal and fixation points to create a secure and consistent seal.
Building on more than 30 years of experience in urban transport, Ventura Systems’ third generation Plug Sliding door system raises the standard for safe, reliable and efficient passenger access. Developed in line with ISO 26262 functional safety, the system integrates risk assessment, redundancies and mitigation measures throughout its design. Its fully electric operation eliminates pneumatic components, supporting dependable performance and simplifying integration into modern vehicle platforms. The new generation is also lighter, slimmer and smarter: optimised rubber geometry reduces weight and material exposure, while improved passenger detection and precise motion control enhance protection and performance. At its heart, the future-ready DCU 2.0 continuously monitors door speed and position. The result is a refined, intelligent door system that retains Ventura Systems’ proven sealing performance while giving vehicle manufacturers greater freedom in layout and interior design.
Ventura is also showcasing a demo called DAS: Door Adjustment By Sensors
DAS is a new tool to objectively assess the installation quality of its door systems. Using sensors and a machine learning-based algorithm, the system analyses measurements and identifies deviations from normal installation conditions. This evidence-based approach helps engineers make precise adjustments, supporting reliable door operation from the start of the vehicle lifecycle.
Why is exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo 2026 an unmissable opportunity for you?
Ventura Systems is pleased to return to Euro Bus Expo, an event that provides a valuable opportunity to connect with the UK public transport industry and showcase our latest developments in door technology. Having exhibited at Euro Bus Expo every other year since 2020, we know the value of being present at an event that brings together public transport operators, authorities, manufacturers and industry professionals from across the UK and beyond. The UK is an important market for Ventura Systems, and our presence is strengthened further by our UK partner, Transport Door Solutions. Together, we are committed to building strong relationships within the UK market and supporting the development of safe, reliable and efficient public transport.
For Ventura Systems, Euro Bus Expo is a chance to actively engage with the industry, exchange knowledge and demonstrate how our technology continues to develop in response to the needs of modern public transport. At the exhibition, we look forward to showcasing our latest innovations, including new door systems, developments in rubber design and solutions aimed at improving passenger and driver safety. It is also an opportunity to demonstrate the expertise and experience Ventura Systems brings to the international market. For these reasons, Euro Bus Expo is an important exhibition for Ventura Systems and one we are very much looking forward to being part of again.

Konvekta Demonstrates Why the Overall System Makes the Difference in Electric Bus Thermal Management
At Euro Bus Expo 2026, Konvekta will demonstrate why the overall system, not just the refrigerant, makes the difference in electric bus thermal management.
Electrification is fundamentally changing the requirements for heating and air-conditioning systems. While vehicles with conventional drive units could use waste heat for heating, the heat required in electric buses must be provided and distributed efficiently.
At the same time, not only the driver’s compartment and passenger cabin, but also the battery and other temperature-sensitive components must be maintained within defined temperature ranges. Thermal management has therefore become an essential part of a vehicle’s operational and energy management strategy. For operators, energy consumption, driving range, passenger comfort and cost-effectiveness are particularly important.
The CO₂ heat pump as a key component
The heat pump plays a central role in this process, enabling existing thermal energy to be distributed wherever it is needed within the vehicle. In addition to energy extracted from the ambient air, waste heat from the battery, drive unit components or other systems can also be integrated, depending on the vehicle and system architecture. This helps to reduce the amount of energy drawn from the traction battery for heating.
CO₂ heat pump systems provide efficient heating even at low ambient temperatures and are also well suited to vehicle preconditioning. With a properly designed system, the heat pump can cover most of the heating demand during normal operation. Depending on the system configuration, additional electric or conventional heating may no longer be required, or may only be needed as a backup.
The refrigerant alone is not the deciding factor
For many years, Konvekta has placed a strong emphasis on CO₂ as a natural refrigerant. It is non-flammable, PFAS-free and has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1.
However, the choice of refrigerant is only one part of the overall technical assessment. What matters is how the heat pump, heat sources and control systems work together and how they are integrated into the vehicle. Energy efficiency, operational safety and cost-effectiveness must also be considered across the entire life cycle.
In addition to CO₂, Konvekta works closely with customers to develop heat pump systems using alternative refrigerants, such as propane. CO₂ remains a key technological focus for the company, based on many years of experience, proven series production and its specific properties.
Different vehicles require different solutions
Thermal management requirements vary depending on vehicle type and operating profile. Konvekta’s CO₂ heat pump technology, with more than 15,000 systems proven in the field, can be tailored to individual vehicle requirements using over 800 parameters.
This also allows specific requirements to be addressed, for example in electric double-deck buses with two passenger decks and different thermal zones. The result is a proven system that can be individually integrated into the vehicle concept.
Konvekta looks forward to welcoming visitors and discussing the thermal management requirements of modern electric buses.
